Trump tells Walmart to ‘eat the tariffs’ after retailer warned it will raise prices

President Donald Trump has blasted Walmart On Saturday after the Larganst retailer of the country had warned this week that it should increase prices due to rates.

“Walmart should stop trying to blame the rates because the reason for increasing prices surpassed the chain,” Trump wrote about Truth Social. “Between Walmart and China, they should, as it is said,” eat the rates, “and do not charge customers anything.” I will watch, just like your customers !!! “

Walmart CFO John David Rainey said on Thursday in an interview with CNBC that: “We have not seen any procedures that are increasing on this size, in the speed in which they come to us earlier, and so it ensures a challenging environment.”

As a retail giant and the largest grocer in the country, Walmart is offese for Bellwether for the health of retailers and American consumers.

Rainey said he “is satisfied with the progress made by the [Trump] Administration on rates of the levels that were announced at the beginning of April, but they are still too high electronics and toys from China and produce including avocado and bananas from Central and South America.
