Dubai, UAE – October 2025: As the global race toward sustainability accelerates, GITEX Global 2025 has emerged as a powerful platform for green technology startups to showcase their innovations and attract impact-driven investment. With climate funding facing global slowdowns, the event is positioning Dubai as a key hub where technology and sustainability intersect.

Empowering Climate Entrepreneurs

This year, GITEX’s North Star segment has introduced a new Green Impact Zone, a dedicated space for climate-focused entrepreneurs working on clean energy, waste management, agri-tech, water conservation, and circular economy solutions.

The Green Impact Zone features pitch competitions, investor meetings, and mentorship sessions designed to connect startups with venture capital firms, accelerators, and government bodies eager to promote sustainable transformation.

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the key co-organizers, emphasized that North Star’s initiatives are enabling climate-focused founders to scale globally while leveraging Dubai’s strong infrastructure and investment ecosystem.

Bridging the Climate Funding Gap

While investor interest in climate technology remains strong, global funding trends show a more selective approach, favoring startups with proven scalability and measurable impact.

In the Middle East, however, the challenge remains in balancing local and international investment flows. Recent data suggests that the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar collectively invested $3.49 billion in climate projects overseas, compared to only $35 million invested within the region — highlighting a critical opportunity for homegrown green-tech ventures.

Real-World Innovations on Display

From smart water leak detection systems to modular biogas plants for hotels and solar-powered microgrids, GITEX 2025 has put the spotlight on technologies that deliver tangible environmental results.

A prime example of scalable green infrastructure is Dubai’s Warsan Waste-to-Energy facility, which processes nearly 1.9 million tonnes of municipal waste annually to produce 200 megawatts of power, enough to supply electricity to approximately 120,000 homes.

Collaboration for a Sustainable Future

GITEX Global 2025 is also serving as a key meeting point for regulators, investors, and entrepreneurs. Policy sessions during the event explore topics such as carbon accounting, ESG integration, net-zero technologies, and green finance models, aiming to align public policy with innovation.

Across the UAE, new initiatives like Hub71+ ClimateTech in Abu Dhabi and Masdar Catalyst, a joint accelerator between Masdar and BP, are helping climate-tech startups access funding and global markets.

Dubai: The Emerging Global Hub for Green Tech

Dubai’s strong capital base, progressive environmental policies, and commitment to sustainable development make it an ideal launchpad for climate entrepreneurs targeting markets across the Gulf, Asia, and Africa.

GITEX Global’s growing focus on sustainability underscores a clear message — the next wave of innovation will be green, data-driven, and globally connected. As the world’s largest tech event embraces environmental technology, Dubai continues to solidify its reputation as a global leader in climate-tech innovation.
