Abu Dhabi, UAE – October 2025: During her official visit to the United Arab Emirates, European Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva held a series of productive meetings with Emirati ministers, senior officials, and key partners, reinforcing the deepening partnership between the European Union (EU) and the UAE.

The discussions centered on expanding cooperation in several strategic sectors, including renewable energy, digital transformation, trade, sustainable development, and education. Both sides emphasized their shared vision of promoting innovation-driven growth and tackling global challenges through joint initiatives.
Commissioner Zaharieva commended the UAE’s efforts in advancing clean energy and green technologies, noting the country’s leadership in global sustainability dialogues. She also highlighted the EU’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s transition toward a low-carbon and knowledge-based economy, underscoring Europe’s expertise in research, innovation, and climate resilience.
During the meetings, the Commissioner also discussed opportunities for enhancing trade and investment, fostering academic and cultural exchange, and deepening cooperation in science, technology, and digital governance.
