Abu Dhabi, UAE – October 2025: The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi signed 10 strategic agreements during GITEX Global 2025, aimed at accelerating the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across city management, mobility, and urban services.
These partnerships reflect DMT’s mission to drive innovation in smart infrastructure, sustainability, and service delivery—strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global leader in digital transformation.

Strengthening Smart City Partnerships
Two of DMT’s key affiliates—the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC)—played central roles in the new collaborations.
Dr. Saif Al Nasri, Acting Undersecretary at DMT, said:

Key Agreements and Focus Areas
- DMT & e& (Etisalat Group) — To deploy AI-powered drones across the emirate for traffic monitoring, flood response, infrastructure inspection, 3D mapping, and crowd management. The drones will operate on 5G networks and be linked to a central Drone Operations Hub with a unified unmanned traffic management system.
- DMT & Analog Studios — Collaboration on digital twin technology, robotics, field automation, and command-and-control solutions to improve real-time city monitoring and emergency response.
- DMT & Origen Technology — Joint development of a Smart City Platform and an integrated digital services portal for enhanced governance, interdepartmental coordination, and public engagement. The partnership also includes an AI-based Video Management System to support safety and traffic operations.
- DMT & HIKVISION DMCC — Cooperation on cloud-based AI solutions, smart surveillance, and digital infrastructure innovations.
- DMT & Capgemini — Implementation of AI-enabled systems to optimize municipal services, infrastructure management, and digital transformation across public sectors.
- ITC & K2 — Partnership to advance autonomous mobility through robotaxis, robodelivery systems, automated valet parking, and intelligent fleet management frameworks.
- ITC & Tatweer Middle East and Africa — Joint initiative to enhance vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) connectivity, smart traffic control, and autonomous vehicle testing.
- DMT, TDRA & Abu Dhabi Maritime — Agreement to streamline wireless communication permits for maritime systems, boosting regulatory efficiency and maritime digitalization.
- ADREC & Etihad Credit Bureau — Partnership to enable secure financial and credit data sharing, supporting more data-driven real estate operations and investments.
- ADREC & e& — Agreement to improve customer experience and expand digital integration in property management and real estate services.
