Sheikh Hamdan to begin first official visit to India tomorrow

Dubai’s Sheikh Hamdan will begin his official visit to India tomorrow, April 8, Dubai Media Office confirmed on Monday.

The two-day visit comes after an official invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This would be the first official visit of Sheikh Hamdan to India as the Crown Prince of Dubai. He will hold talks with senior Indian officials to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen partnerships across various strategic sectors.

Prime Minister Modi on April 8 will host a working lunch for Sheikh Hamdan. He will also also hold meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Sheikh Hamdan will visit Mumbai on April 9, the second day of this official trip. During the visit, he will also participate in a business roundtable with prominent business leaders from both sides.

Dubai has played an important role in India’s commercial, cultural and people-to-people exchanges with the UAE. In 2024, Indian population in the UAE reached nearly 4 million.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on September 8 of last year also went for an official visit to India.

On September 9, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held discussions on a wide range of areas of bilateral cooperation. He also visited Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

On September 10, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince concluded his visit to India after participating in a Business Forum in Mumbai.
