The general authority for land and seaports signed at Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dubai Ports World (DP World) worth $ 800 million, a strategic step aimed at strengthening the gate infrastructure and logistical services in Syria.
The Memorandum includes an extensive investment in the development, management and operation of multifunctional terminal at Tatous Port, contribution to increasing the efficincy of the port, increasing operational capacity and improving its role as a crucial hub for regional and international trade.
The two parties also agree to work together in setting up industrial zones and free zones, in addition to dry ports and freight drain stations in a number of strategic areas in the Syrian Arab Republic, which reflect the involvement of both parties to support economic development and facilitation.
