Dubai, 14th October 2025 (WAM) – The world’s largest technology and AI showcase, GITEX GLOBAL 2025, opened today to record-breaking crowds and the biggest-ever gathering of government leaders, tech enterprises, startups, investors, and business executives — marking 45 years of innovation at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Running from 13–17 October 2025, this landmark edition features more than 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and representatives from over 180 countries. Beyond its massive scale, GITEX 2025 embodies the global momentum toward the fusion of technology, economic strategy, and geopolitics — establishing Dubai as a unifying platform where governments, industry visionaries, and innovators collaborate to shape intelligence-driven economies and societies.

Opening the discussions on the main stage, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, addressed the conference theme, “The Race Beyond Innovation: AI, Geopolitics, and the Global Economic Reset.” He emphasized that innovation and diversification remain central to the UAE’s economic agenda.

“The United Arab Emirates, guided by the vision of its wise leadership, is not merely part of the global race for innovation — it is defining its course,” said Al Marri. “By building a resilient, knowledge-driven, and technology-led economic model, the UAE continues to strengthen its position at the forefront of the global economy.”

Delving into the expanding role of deep technology, Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation at the European Commission, joined Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) — the applied research arm of the UAE’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) — to discuss how deep-tech ecosystems influence nations and economies.

“The European Union and the UAE share a common vision to drive innovation that directly benefits people,” Zaharieva noted. “We both recognize the critical role of startups and scaleups — and this collaboration begins right here at GITEX 2025.”

The “Intelligence Super-Cycle” panel brought together Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister for AI and Digital Innovation, and Amandeep Gill, UN Envoy for Digital Technologies, to explore how artificial intelligence is evolving into the defining infrastructure of the 21st century.

“GITEX is a perfect example of entrepreneurship at unprecedented speed,” said Solomon. “It’s inspiring to meet innovators, companies, and leaders here, and to see our partnership with the UAE grow as we work to make AI not only trustworthy — but accessible and beneficial for all.”

Highlighting breakthroughs in AI supercomputing, Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras, shared insights on the company’s collaboration with G42 to create the world’s largest AI training supercomputer.

“We built the largest chip in computing history — the size of a dinner plate,” Feldman explained. “By keeping more data on the chip and reducing movement, we achieved faster results with lower power consumption — redefining the limits of high-performance computing.”
