Risha Tulpule, a 14-year-old in Dubai, is doing some really cool things with her e-waste project. She’s a ninth-grader at GEMS Modern Academy. Risha noticed a lot of old electronics were being wasted and wanted to fix that.It all began when she saw that people around her weren’t recycling old gadgets correctly. So, Risha started WeCareDXB, which is a student group that picks up and recycles electronic waste. It’s getting bigger fast. Risha just finished her 15th collection, grabbing 900 kilograms of e-waste!

Risha sets up drop-off spots for people to leave their old electronics during these events. Then, she works with local recycling places to handle everything safely for the environment. Her work is getting people to think about why recycling e-waste is important. Also, it’s getting other students interested in helping the planet.I decided to do something because I noticed the problem when I was very young, Risha said, talking about why she started. You can see how hard she’s worked from all the support she gets from schools and the community. They all help out with her campaigns.

Risha wants to do more events all year so she can reach even more people. Her love for the environment shows how young people can make a real difference in their communities.
