The defense of the Zamalek title in the Caferación Caferación stopped when the Cairo giants suffered a defeat at Stellenbosch.
Zamalek had entered the second stage with a slight advantage after a goalless draw in South Africa last week. But instead of building that advantage, they looked flat, with visitors showing greater composure through the game.
The White Knights created only two real possibilities of the party. The second, at the beginning of the second half, saw the Tunisian striker again wasting a golden opportunity from a short distance, shooting from the post.
Stellenbosch, on the other hand, capitalized his impulse with a Nduli ending inside the box to break the dead point and finally decide the draw.
Zamalek tried to go back in the last minutes, but his attempts barely threatened the South African defense.
The defeat adds to a disappointing race in the Zamalek season, delivering a strong blow to the side of Zamalek Alreaty under pressure in the midst of internal agitation and rumors about the possible game of Ahmed Sayed Zizo to the arch -rivals of Al Ahly.
