Roy Keane and Ian Wright have expressed their frustration for the “unfair” comparison between Mohamed Salah and Kevin de Bruyne.

As Salah approaches a new two -year contract with Liverpool and Bruyne, he prepares to leave Manchester City at the end of the season. In the last episode or Adhere to footballThe podcast panel, with Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Wright and Keane, asked about Neville: “Who is older, Mo Salah or Kevin de Bruyne?”

He thought the group leaned towards Bruyne, Wright and Keane were reluctant to choose one or the other.

“At the moment, you probably have to go with Kevin de Bruyne,” Wright admitted. “I probably be doing the premier League XI of all time. It is an exceptional talent and a consumption professional.”

Meanwhile, Roy Keane responded bluntly: “Do we have to compare the two? They are two bright players.”

Ian Wright echoed the feeling: “Why compare them? Of course, Bruyne has more trophies, but Salah is also incredible. It is an unfair question.”

Despite the side of De Bruyne, Wright emphasized: “It’s unfair in Salah. You need to compare players with similar medals or achievements.”

Salah, who is on the way to his second Premier League title, occupies the fifth place in the score list of all the league with 184 goals, and has won the Golden Boot three times, along with the 2021/22 game prize. He is chasing both of them again this season.

De Bruyne, meanwhile, has six Premier League titles and 118 assists in 281 games, only surpassed by Ryan Giggs. He has also claimed the game prize three times and has been appointed in five PFA teams of the year, compared to the three of Salah.

While both players have left their mark on English football, the frustration of Roy Keane and Ian Wright highlights how difficult, and perhaps unnecessary, is to face two greats of all time with each other.
