The Big West Country Road Race starts our UK-wide endurance that runs round-up
AJ Bell Great Bristol Run, 11 May
Max Davis won the Half-Marrathon title of the men half a minute from Joe O’Connelel in 66:24 when Jack Millar became third for more than a minute.
With the city bathed in sunshine and warm temperatures, personal records were not very and far between the leading men in the 13.1-Mile Race, although for O’Connell it was his first outing about the distinction.
For Davis it was his first race of the year, which means that the English national and 12-phase road relay of Bristol & West was not on his resume.

Rosie Hamilton-James was almost a minute outside her best of 75: 07 Earlier this year in Wokingham, with her victory of two and a half times in 75:58.
Day Minders and Gemma Steel won the 10 km races for men and women 10 km respectively in 30:24 and 34:59.

Sarah Gee, 61, won the ladies race Ovell in 86:45 and said: “It no longer appears on the power of 10, so I KNE it was not licensed and it is 200m height, plus very winding and with many innings, so it’s not a fast course.
“It was a good training run and wonderful to be first lady, but that will not be the case, but it supports my local city, so happy, but I will not do it again.

Sunderland Harriers led the race that included the youngest age groups of the men after Steve Rankin had an 8:52 split, for the Two-Lapper, until the time they got up as the fastest M40 time of the evening.
There was a faster time behind it when Gateshead’s James Nettleton 8:37 was the best among the M35s because his club became second.
Third placed Elswick ended with Rew Bell, WHO 8:55 was the fastest M45 time.
The first race of the evening had been for all the age groups of the women and the more than 65 men and Jenny Berry led them all at home at the opening phase with an 8:59 times it was to get up as the best among women and her Wallsend Club held up to the generally invested ladies team.
The second Quickst Women’s Time was from Elswick’s Justina Heslop, with 10:11, only a few days after she helped her club with the British Masters W45 title in Mallory Park.
