New Breast Implant Addresses Size Gap for Post-Mastectomy Reconstruction

Johnson & Johnson Medtech announce the American launch of mentor memorygel to breast implants, with the aim of filling a gap in extensive healthcare cancer care for women who have undergone a breast amputation.

Designed for primary or assessment reconstruction after a breast amputation, the Mentor Memorygel of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved by the US are developed that improve breast implants to deliver more adapted results without committing aesthetic results.

The breast implants meet the needs of approximately 15% of post-masteromie patients who previously had no access to just format for reconstruction.

Offer a choice for patients after the master

With breast cancer that continues to rise in the US, more than 246,000 women undergo a breast amputation every year as part of the treatment or prevention of breast cancer. Breast reconstruction offers these women the option to rebuild their breasts after the operation with the help of implants, so that both shape and volume restore.

Without approval of size, patients can be confronted with symmetry problems, aesthetic results or the need for addional operations to achieve their desired results. Until now, the largest available implant 800 cc was, making it difficult for patients with larger body frames or extensive tissue to achieve proportional results and to lead to lower reconstruction rates.

Memorygel enlarged implants offer the same patented gelformulation, softness and form retention as the existing Mentorportfolio and are now available in larger sizes with an extensive range of basic widths, projections and volumes to better meet the reconstruction needs of more octies of more pets. The mentor improves product family includes memory leverage implants, CPX4 Plus improve breast tissue expanders and memory gel improve breast implants breast implants, designed to work together to support a complete reconstruction experience.

“As a standard part of Post-Scam-Care, reconstruction options have not kept pace with the various needs of contemporary patient population,” says Mark Migliori, MD, FACS, Bord-certified plastic implant, in a release. “For patients who need an implant with a larger volume than what was available earlier, they now have an option that helps them to know again.”

Mentor Memorygel Improvement of breast implants were approved by the US FDA for primary and assessment invymber in November 2024. Three-year data of the Athena study, the largest multicenter activity of larger implants, 96% total patient satisfaction, low complications and significant improvement.
