We have all navigated in a tumultuous trip for the past two weeks. The news and our social media feeds have bombed us with a sum of the most painful images we have seen in our lives. It is difficult to put into words how we feel, and Sems every day to bring a new layer of heart.

Emotional food: A common response to stress

I have to admit that my own thoughts were quite clouded this weekend, so I was uncertain about what I have to share in this week’s newsletter. It was that a client came to aid of a message that touched a chord: “How do someone nowadays concentrate on something without emotional food away through the heartache?” I realized that this was a valid worries, because I also thought that Myelf used food to tackle my emots recently.

Attract your “big girls”

So I decide to put on my “big girl pants” and put together the sub of my best tips for managing emotional food during challenging times. Let’s dive right away:

1. Stay active

One of the most effective ways to release accumulated emotions is to move your body. Whether it is boxing, kickboxing, yoga, strength training or turning, physical activity can help you to channel and release negative energy.

2. Stay busy

Having a busy schedule can help you to scroll thoughtlessly by scrolling social media and finding comfort in unhealthy comfort food. Drawing at work and spending quality time with friends can offer much needed distraction, allowing you to regulate your emotions.

3. Meal preparation

Planning your meals in advance not only helps to manage a busy schedule, but also reduces emotional food. It eliminates the guesswork of your day, you have a well thought out meal when emots strike. On days when you can prepare your own meal, you must have a list of healthy dying options in the area to make better choices.

4. Tomorrow is a new day!

Remember that we all have a moment of weakness. If you notice that you are doing too much, Don has beaten yourself up. It’s okay. Start fresh with your next meal or the next day. One “no Guat” choice does not define your overall progress.

Self -care in difficult times

I hope you find tips that are useful! Managing Emootions and staying focused during challenging times can also be a Dauunt task. It is completely normal to feel overwhelmed, stressed, scared, powerless, angry, sad and everything in between. But is crucial to remember that taking care of yourself does not mean that you care less for others or offer less support. You have to supplement your mind, body and soul, even if you just witness, argue for change or protest. Nobody will serve by burning up and emptying.
