New Dubai parking fees explained: Everything you need to know ahead of April 4

Parkin de Dubai has announced details of its variable parking fees policy with premium rates, special events of events and readjusted areas.

As previously announced, the variable parking rate policy will enter into force in Dubai as of April 4.

The new policy, introduced by the Highway and Transportation Authority, applies maximum rates and outside the peak at 100 percent of the public parking portfolio and approximately 35 percent of the developer spaces, depending on the type of parking installation (standard premium parking for the department).

Dubai parking rates explained

Premium parking is classified as parking lots in high demand and densely populated areas, including adjacent or almost public transport infrastructure.

The areas are clearly marked with dedicated signage and details of rates on the screen. Additional information can now be notified on the Parkin website, through the Mobile Parkin application and social media channels.

After more discussions between Parkin and the RTA, the RTA has appointed 40 percent of the company’s public portfolio as a premium parking (above 35 percent prior to 35 percent).

The balance of the public parking portfolio will be classified as standard parking.

At the end of the year 2024, the company operated 3.2K parking spaces in six multiple floors (MSCP).

The Willain MSCP parking rate without changes in AED5 by Hor Hor, loadable throughout the day, 365 days a year.

However, parking customers for more than eight hours in any period of 24 will be subject to an AED 40 maximum rate.

At the end of the year 2024, the company’s private developer portfolio consisted or 19.2k spaces.

After the discussions with the RTA, the expectation is that approximately 35 percent (above an expected 0 percent) or the Parkin developer portfolio will be subject to the variable rate.

In line with the public parking portfolio, the variable parking rate policy will also apply to developer parking spaces from April 4, 2025.

To manage the increase in vehicle volumes large volumes, an AED25 rate per hour will be in force from 8 am to 10 pm in the area that immediately surrounds the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC).

The Grand Events rate will be applicable to approximately 200 spaces.

At the time of the announcement, the following great events take place in the DWTC in 2025:

  • GITEX (October 13 – 5 /5 days)
  • Beautyworld Middle East (October 27-29 / 3 days)
  • Gulfood Manufacturing (November 4 – 6 /3 days)
  • The Big 5 (November 24-27 / 4 days)
  • Automechanika Dubai (December 9 – 11, 2025/3 days)

Under the Maximum Premium prices rules, parking will be 50 percent more expense.
