There is information about emergency procedures, a list of forbidden items (including firearms and explosives, but also things like pamphlets that are considered disruptive for the event), to the directory of nearby urgent care facilities and pharmacies, and made an adapted video for those present.

Many of the tips apply to attention to each conference: “Stir your registration bath when you leave the congress center;” “Do not show a hotel guest room keys in public;” And “only use the main entrance of your hotel.”

Preparation for the unknown

It is difficult to identify the greatest threat to a large event, such as collecting global risk professionals.

Rims actively had songs management management in 2023 when a fatal shooting in Atlanta forced the organizers to cancel the last day of the conference in the Georgia World Congress Center, about two and a half miles distance. With the shooter, who killed and four, still in general, they sent 9,000 attentions and 300 exhibitions home.

“Violence and cyber attacks keep a great concern,” said Ruff-Lyon. “But it is not always threats that we have to tackle. Hinders that are unique to the destination.”

Multi -Face Security Plan

During the show, rims employed guards to check inputs and outputs to the congress center. Merrill Herzog, Whoe-Team includes former members of the American intelligence community and American special operations, manages on-site security for Riskworld. The police and medical staff of Chicago are also on site during the conference.

“In addition to those important players, everyone, from our shuttle bus providers to our home sellers, are involved in security calls prior to Riskworld, and they participate in the on-site security walk the day before the show starts,” said Ruff-Lyon.

The entire staff of the rims throw in to help. “We count on their eyes and ears to tackle problems before they climb.”

Riskworld is also the first conference in the world that protects smart, incidentrespies technology Caled Gabriel, with which an attentive can inform the security command center of a problem, offers immediate communication to the participant and visual supervision of the area.

Challenges with changing locations

Rims change its risk management plan for risk work every year. “When a large-scale event goes from location to location annually, the biggest change is the security team itself,” said Ruff-Lyon. “Moving from the San Diego Convention Center to McCormick Place in Chicago required rims and the security team to assess the layout of the new congress center, to understand where previews were, and a plan that was most logical.”

They had to make Surreyone on board, from leaders from the congress center to city leaders, to the local police.

After the show, the organizers do a Reca with all partners and the starting preparation six months before the show of the following year (held in Philadelphia 3-6 May 2026).
