Olympic 800m champion was collected in the New Year’s List of the King for her contribution to athletics

Keely Hodgkinson has stated that she “on the map” wants putitics “after reviving her MBE in Windsor Castle (13 May).

The Olympic 800M champion received the award for her contribution to athletics – last year she broke her own British record with 1: 54.61, was the stage in Paris and was the crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

The 23-year-old became only the third British woman to secure gold in the 800m in the Games-after Ann Packer in Tokyo 1964 and Kelly Holmes Athens 2004 and is now the inspiration of the next generation.

That could also be Princess Charlotte after Prince William, who handed Hodgkinson her MBE, the Olympic champion spoke that his daughter is an avid runner.

“The prince told me that she is currently doing the 400m and the obstacles and that she watched me in Paris,” said Hodgkinson. “He told me that he remembers that I won and that he wanted him to see it himself.”

Hodgkinson has no longer has Compec since the Olympic Games and is planning to open its season at the Stockholm Diamond League of next month (June 15).

The women’s field has all eight of the top of 800m runners in the world, which means that Hodgkinson is confronted with fellow countrymen Georgia Hunter-Bell and Jemma Reekie in the Swedish capital.

She also goes against Tsige Duguma and Mary Mora, who have secured 800 m silver and bronze respectively in Paris.

Hodgkinson had hit sights during the breaking of Jolanda čeplaks for a long time existing World Indoor 800m Record from 1: 55.82 back on its own event classic in Birmingham-in February.

However, the Brit plans were sustained by a hamstring injury, substitute during her last training session before the meeting.

“At the moment and feel really good, we are in a very good place,” she said. “The hamstring progressed well, we took our time with us and we have had no problems in training so far, which was really positive.

“We are a bit on track. I am still four or five weeks away from opening my season, but I am looking forward to it and it is [Stockholm Diamond League] A big race, it is actually an Olympic final. “
