El-Wensh Signs New Deal to Extend Zamalek Stay

Zamalek’s defender, Mahmoud Hamdi El-Wensh, has signed a new three-year contract, ending speculation about his future.

The White Knights announced the renewal on Friday, confirming that the 29 -year -old center whose contract would expire at the end of the current season, will now complete what will be a 12 -year possession with the club at the end of its new agreement.

El-Wensh joined Zamalek from Tala’ea el-Gaish in 2016 and since then has made 235 appearances in all competitions. Around nine seasons, he has contributed 14 goals and has played a vital role in obtaining 11 titles for White Knights, seven national and four continental.

This season, El-Wensh returned to action after a cross ligament rupture suffered in February 2024, which followed an anterior partial breakage of the same ligament. From his return, he has appeared in 21 games and scored once.

Among the trophies that has helped to ensure are two Egyptian titles of the Premier League, two CAF Confederation Cups, two Super CAF cups, three drinks of Egypt and two super Egyptian glasses, establishing itself as an cornerstone or the success of Zamalek.

After the bitter club Fallout with Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Zamalek was fast to reaffirm his faith in one of his most decorated players while looking at a more stable future.
